Anthony
Pilgrim

Vidal Sassoon trained. Nearly thirty years behind the chair, and almost twenty of them spent on curls alone. He cuts curls the way they actually grow, then teaches you how to keep them that way.

the long version

From London to Victoria Street

Anthony started out in London, training at Vidal Sassoon, where the whole philosophy is that a haircut should hold its shape on its own. That idea never really left him, and it turns out to matter more for curls than for anything else.

He went on to co-found one of West London’s leading curl salons, working almost exclusively with natural texture at a time when most of the industry was still trying to straighten it. Alongside the salon came session work: London and Sydney fashion weeks, editorial shoots, and music videos including Kylie Minogue.

He has been back in Australia for over a decade now, and Curls Curls Curls is the distillation of all of it. One chair, natural texture only, and the time to do it properly.

The name is a nod to the neon in the window and to the corner of Potts Point it sits on. The work behind it is entirely serious.

how anthony works

Four things that do not change, whoever is in the chair.

Natural texture only.

We only work with natural curls and texture. It is not a service line inside a general salon, it is the entire business.

Condition first.

Hydration and regular cuts come before anything else. No damaging products, and no heat assisted styling tools.

Air dried or diffused.

Curls are dried the way they hold best, left to air dry or diffused, rather than stretched out and styled with heat.

Then we teach you.

How to choose products, how to apply them, and how to dry and style at home. You leave able to do it again yourself.

your first appointment

What actually happens

A first appointment runs two hours, because it is a consultation, a cut and a lesson in one. Here is how that time gets used.

01

The consultation

We talk properly before anything happens. What your hair does, what you have been doing to it, what you actually want from it, and what is realistic.

02

The cut

A shape built around your actual curl pattern and how it behaves, rather than a generic set of layers that only looks right on the day.

03

The lesson

Washing, product, how much, in what order, and how to dry without wrecking it. This is the part most people have never been shown.

04

The plan

What to do between visits, what to use, and when to come back. You leave with a routine, not just a haircut.
